National Sea Passenger Facilitation Committee
The National Sea Passenger Facilitation Committee is the maritime counterpart to the NPFC. It is the forum for engagement between government agencies and industry partners. It aims to improve facilitation of passengers through seaports, while maintaining border security.
The responsibilities of the NSPFC are to allow:
- government-industry exchange of views on sea passenger facilitation issues that are operational, legal or policy related
- industry and government agency representatives to present papers on issues of strategic importance
- consultation that will enhance Australia’s border protection capability by:
- considering issues specific to international ocean going cruise vessel visits
- identifying and developing strategies, best business practices initiatives for improving sea passenger clearance processes.
Meeting Frequency
The NSPFC meets twice a year. Meetings may occur more frequently, as required and agreed by the Chair.
