National Passenger Facilitation Committee
The National Passenger Facilitation Committee (NPFC) is a forum for engagement between government agencies and industry partners. This aims to improve facilitation of passengers through airports, while maintaining appropriate border security.
The responsibilities of the NPFC are to allow:
- a constructive government-industry exchange of views on passenger facilitation issues that are operational, legal or policy related
- industry and government agency representatives to present papers on issues of strategic importance
- consultation that will improve Australia’s border protection by:
- supporting innovative strategies to address issues specific to the air transport and civil aviation industries
- identifying and developing strategies, best business practices initiatives for improving passenger clearance processes
- ensuring use of Standards and Recommended Practices (SARPs) contained in Annex 9 Facilitation to the Chicago Convention (ICAO).
Meeting Frequency
The NPFC meets twice a year. Meetings may occur more frequently, as required and agreed by the Chair.
