Asbestos in imported motor vehicles
As with any other goods, it is the responsibility of the importer to ensure the vehicle they are importing does not contain asbestos. The risk of parts and components containing asbestos in a vehicle might still be present even when the country of origin has an asbestos ban in place. An importer must have a broad knowledge of the vehicle they intend to import, to prevent the importation of asbestos.
