TAPIN Manuals - The Tariff and Precedents Information Network (TAPIN) is a system designed to assist customs officers, customs brokers and the general importing community to obtain the correct rate of customs duty payable on imported goods. Each piece of advice is given a unique number that can be quoted on customs declarations to facilitate the clearing of imported goods. TAPIN passes specific information from the tariff and valuation advice to the ICS. This information is used to validate tariff or valuation advice information quoted on a declaration.
