SmartGates

1. Go to an available SmartGate and face the camera. Stay facing the camera and follow the instructions on the screen.
2. Only one person at a time can be in the SmartGate. If more than one person is detected, the SmartGate will stop processing.
3. Keep your baggage close to you, particularly large items and backpacks, remove face masks, hats, sunglasses, headphones and other bulky items around your neck for easier facial recognition.
4. Religious head coverings can be worn, but must show your face from the bottom of the chin to the top of the forehead. The edges of your face on either side should also be visible.
5. If successful, the door will open and allow you to continue to baggage claim.
6. If unsuccessful, the barrier will remain closed and you will need to go the SmartGate Assistance Desk.

Arrivals Kiosks and SmartGates are compliant with Australian standards.

You can now collect any checked baggage and go to the arrivals exit. At the exit, you will need to give your SmartGate ticket and Incoming Passenger Card to an Australian Border Force Officer or Biosecurity Officer.
