  1. Status Request messages (STREQ) must be electronically reported.
  2. A STREQ may be lodged by any registered client. The level of detail that will be provided on the response message will depend on the relationship of the client requesting the status of the “Customs Authority Number”.
  3. All STREQ messages are treated as originals by the ICS, this means that every EDI generated STREQ message must quote a unique Sender Reference.
  4. STREQ messages should use a version number of 1.
  5. A STREQ message must contain a “Customs Authority Number” in the RFF segment at position 0050
  6. Receipt of an STREQ will generate a CONTRL response message, notifying CCF acceptance or rejection.
  7. On completion of ICS processing the ICS will return a STREQR message to indicate ICS acceptance, rejection or error conditions.
  8. If the STREQ is accepted Customs will return a status, which will refer to the "Customs Authority Number" quoted in the RFF segment.
  9. Before the STREQ message is processed at the application level:
    1. All non significant leading and trailing blanks will be stripped;
    2. Multiple spaces will be compressed.
