GENRAL - Request for Accredited Client Export Approval Numbers -
(RACEAN)
A Request for ACEAN/s is communicated to the Department in accordance with section 114BB of the
Customs Act 1901 . It provides the Department with the details of the client requesting the ACEAN/s and other associated details. It can be submitted by the client or their agent.
A request for ACEAN/s must be lodged in order to obtain ACEAN/s. The ACEAN/s must be obtained before the goods covered by them are exported.

The data type may be more general or the total length greater than what is specified in the User Data Dictionary for the ICS data items that the EDIFACT elements map to. Submissions will be validated in accordance with the Data Dictionary.
