EXD - Export Declaration

​​CUSDEC - Export Declaration - (EXD)

An Export Declaration is communicated in accordance with sections 113 and 114 of the Customs Act 1901. The export declaration can be communicated by document or electronically by the owner of the goods or their authorised agent.

Export Declarations cannot be lodged post-export, they must be lodged before the goods are delivered to a place of export eg Airport, Sea Port.

The Export Declaration message (or form if lodged by paper document) is used to provide the Department with information about goods that are intended for export. The Department responds to Export Declaration messages by issuing an Export Declaration Number and status. An Export Declaration Number with a `Clear' status serves as the exporters Authority (clearance) to Export the Goods.
