EMM - Export Main Manifest

​​CUSCAR - Export Main Manifest - (EMM)

An Export Main Manifest is communicated in accordance with section 119 of the Customs Act 1901 . The Export Main Manifest must be communicated electronically by the person or company in ownership of, or responsible for, operating the aircraft or vessel, or their authorised agent. These companies are normally referred to as Air or Sea Carriers. An Export Main Manifest may be lodged up to 3 days after the Date of Departure of the ship or aircraft carrying the goods.

An Export Main Manifest specifies all the goods (prescribed for the section 119) that were loaded on board the ship or aircraft at the port or airport of lodgement of the Manifest. The Department responds to the message by issuing a Main Manifest Number and a status. A Main Manifest Number with a 'Clear' status serves as proof of the Carrier's fulfilment of Custom's Export Reporting requirements.
