User Data Dictionary
The SDG refers to the Inbound Control message sent as an acknowledgement to the Department as an ICONTRL.
ICS EDI users shall be capable of transmitting a CONTRL message.
The use of a CONTRL message does not indicate user processing of an interchange, the CONTRL message is generated prior to any processing.
A CONTRL message is not to be sent in response to an interchange which only contains CONTRL messages.
EDI Interchanges generated as a response to an ICS business transaction are to be acknowledged on receipt and safe storage with a CONTRL message.
Receipt of a CONTRL message will advise the Department not to resend response messages.
Interchanges not acknowledged will be resent by the Department after a timeout period. This will be repeated a defined number of times.
The CONTRL acknowledgement message will reference the Interchange Owner identity and the ICR from the Interchange UNB received from the Department.
