Software Developers Guide
This Software Developers Guide (SDG) is provided to assist software developers to create new or adapt existing EDI messaging software to communicate with the Integrated Cargo System (ICS).
The SDG is versioned, with subsequent versions containing additional information; each new version of the SDG contains a What's New section, which will detail all new changes and additions.
The SDG includes an overview of the ICS, descriptions of the various functions of the ICS, EDI message specifications, global business rules, business rules for each message, code lists, data dictionaries and links to other useful sites. Advice on how to use this guide can be found at Using the Software Developers Guide.
Developers are advised to read the copyright and disclaimer statement to understand the terms and conditions under which this guide has been made available.

Version 3.43 – See what's new.
Note: The functional changes applied in the Integrated Cargo System (ICS) 'Streamlining Excise Administration for Fuel and Alcohol – Better Aligning Excise Reporting and Payment with Other Indirect Taxes' Release, SDG Version 3.43, are expected to be available for testing purposes in the Industry Test environment from 17 July 2023, and available in Production from late July 2023. Note that the release date may change, depending on when the ruling is passed by Parliament. If you have any queries about these changes, contact
