Australian and Non-citizens

You may be able to use arrivals SmartGates if you:

• have an ePassport symbol on your passport
• are at least 1.1m tall
• are at least seven years of age and travelling with a parent or legal guardian​.​

You cannot use Arrivals SmartGates if you:

• are a domestic traveller on an international flight
  
• are an unaccompanied child under 16 years of age.

Eligible airline crew are able to process through SmartGates.​ New Zealand crew wishing to activate their Special Category Visa (TY-444) must use the manual processing point and present an Incoming Passenger Card (IPC) and New Zealand passport for processing.

Arrivals accessible Kiosks and all SmartGates may accommodate self-propelled wheelchairs. If you require a companion to push the wheelchair, go to the Airline Assisted manual border control desk for assistance.​

If you are travelling with children over 7 years and you are their parent or guardian, you may be able to use arrival SmartGates.

A child travelling with 2 or more parents or guardians should be processed as follows:

1. parent or guardian one
2. child
3. parent or guardian two
