Department ATD Acknowledgment
When you submit an Australia Travel Declaration (ATD), the Department of Home Affairs (Department), collects your personal information, and in the case of a group declaration, the personal information of any accompanying child/children under 18, travelling on the same booking and included in the group declaration. If you are a non-citizen, the ATD will ask you whether you have tuberculosis or criminal convictions, which is ‘sensitive information’ under the Privacy Act 1988 (Cth).
Providing your information in an ATD is voluntary. If you withdraw your ATD you may be required to answer the same questions on a paper Incoming Passenger Card when you arrive in Australia.
I agree to Qantas collecting my personal information, and in the case of a group declaration, the personal information of any accompanying child/children travelling on the same booking and who are included in a group declaration, on behalf of the Department via the ATD in the Qantas App. I agree to Qantas sending it to them for the purposes of laws relating to immigration, customs, border security, quarantine, health, biosecurity, wildlife, statistics and movement of currency.
If I am completing a group ATD declaration on behalf of any accompanying child/children under the age of 18, travelling on the same booking, I declare that I am authorised and have their consent to act on their behalf, provide their personal information, and make the declarations and acknowledgements contained in this ATD.
I understand that I must be 18 years or over to make a group ATD declaration.
In submitting an ATD I acknowledge and consent to the following:
- The Department will collect my personal information, and in the case of a group declaration, personal information of any accompanying child/children included in the group declaration, that I provide in an ATD, including any sensitive information (where applicable), from Qantas, and disclose that information to Australian government agencies, state and territory government agencies and contracted service providers for the purposes explained in the Department ATD Privacy Notice.
- The Department will communicate with me electronically via the Qantas App and / or the email address I provide in an ATD, including to send the ATD pass and to collect feedback (via survey or research) about my experience using the ATD.
I understand that in the case of a group ATD declaration, my personal information may be disclosed to the parent/guardian traveller included in the declaration who may be overseas. Any disclosure will occur in the country where the parent/guardian traveller is located at the time the declaration is completed or submitted.
As the parent/guardian traveller submitting an ATD on behalf of an accompanying child/children, travelling on the same booking, the Department also collects the personal information of each child. The parent/guardian traveller is responsible for ensuring the accuracy of all information submitted for each child included on the group declaration.
The parent/guardian traveller must ensure each child included in the group declaration has also been provided the privacy notice or that, where the child/children does not have capacity to understand the privacy notice, that the parent/guardian traveller has considered the privacy notice on behalf of the child/children and, to the extent practicable, discussed the privacy issues with the child/children.
