Maritime Border Command is the Australian Borer Force’s contribution to the broader Australian Government Operation Maritime Protector. It focuses on protecting Australia from the 8 civil maritime security threats. It is a multi-agency taskforce that includes members from the:

  • Australian Border Force
  • Australian Defence Force
  • Australian Federal Police and
  • Australian Fisheries Management Authority.

We also engage, collaborate and share information with our international partners including:

  • Coast Guards
  • Navy partners
  • Law enforcement authorities
  • Intelligence partners.

Maritime Border Command has the lead role for ensuring maritime domain awareness. We coordinate national awareness and response efforts to protect Australia’s interests in its maritime jurisdiction.
