The Guide to Australian Maritime Security Arrangements is an important whole-of-government document. It helps stakeholders understand responsibilities and arrangements addressing Australia's civil maritime security threats shared by:
- Australian federal, state and territory governments
- international partners and
- Non-government organisations.

Maritime Border Command is the Australian Borer Force’s contribution to the broader Australian Government Operation Maritime Protector. It focuses on protecting Australia from the 8 civil maritime security threats. It is a multi-agency taskforce that includes members from the:
- Australian Border Force
- Australian Defence Force
- Australian Federal Police and
- Australian Fisheries Management Authority.
We also engage, collaborate and share information with our international partners including:
- Coast Guards
- Navy partners
- Law enforcement authorities
- Intelligence partners.
Maritime Border Command has the lead role for ensuring maritime domain awareness. We coordinate national awareness and response efforts to protect Australia’s interests in its
maritime jurisdiction.
