Entry level pathways
The Australian Border Force has two entry-level programs. The Border Force Officer Recruit Trainee (BFORT) program is our entry level program to prepare you for a career in the ABF. For sea going roles on our ABF vessels, we have the entry-level Marine Tactical Officer (MTO) program.
Marine Tactical Officer - Cadet (MTO-C) program
The MTO-C program is the entry pathway for those wanting to join the marine crew.
Border Force Officer Recruit (BFORT) program
The Border Force Officer Recruit Training (BFORT) program comprises six months training, both theory and practical learning.
